Kickstart Go

Workshop, Exhibition and Sales Assistant

Kingston upon Thames
Union of Kingston Students

We are looking for an individual who would be interested in helping us deliver a community, student and graduate led creative space and store in Kingston town centre. In this placement, you’ll play an important role in making sales on student, graduate and community artwork and making sure our events run smoothly. You’ll use and grow your customer service, organisation and networking skills as you help run our store and deliver community led exhibitions, events and pop ups.

You’ll work closely with students, graduates and community groups who run events and sell work in the space, as well as the Curator and Students’ Union staff team. This role would be suitable for people with an interest in retail and organising events; this opportunity to work in the community will make a real difference to the lives and creativity of those in Kingston.

You should be organised, able to plan and meet deadlines. You’ll be good at communicating verbally and in writing, and have basic IT and numeracy skills. Experience organising events is a bonus (whether they are organised in your personal life, at school, at work) but not essential.

This role is being created through the Government Kickstart scheme. To qualify, you must be aged between 16-24 years old and currently unemployed and on Universal credit.
