Data Scientist

We are hiring an enthusiastic data scientist with a keen eye for detail and natural curiosity for patterns. The data scientist will play a key role in the implementation and execution of the data innovation project for the company. More specifically, you will be responsible for gathering, enhancing and transforming customer data into business growth. Helping our clients including many tier 1 financial institutions globally to optimise their trading results on the DMALINK platform. Our team is dynamic in supporting each other as well as other data scientists, data analysts, and data-hungry stakeholders across the organization.

The Data Analyst is an integral member of the team and it is key to our clients’ success.

The data scientist must be able to think independently and enjoy working without supervision. If you are someone, with a ‘hacker’ mentality, who likes to roll up your sleeves, seek new techniques or innovate for optimization, and push the limits of performance, we would like to speak with you. This is a contractual employment opportunity.

Required skillset/tools

  • Impressive and demonstrable skill set in a quantitative subject (Statistics, Engineering, Economics, Physics etc.)

  • Experience in data analysis and problem-solving with large amounts of data.

  • Ability to think creatively to solve complex problems.

  • Ability to autonomously manage simultaneous projects in a fast-paced business environment.

  • Knowledge of relational databases and methods for efficient data retrieval.

  • Proficient in SQL or knowledge of relational databases and methods for efficiently retrieving data. Candidates with hands-on coding experience is a plus.

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills are required.

  • Ability to communicate the results of analyses in a clear and effective manner.

  • Demonstrate interest in core business problems and challenges unique to the FX and financial markets industry.

  • Demonstrate curiosity to dive into available data and enjoy searching for patterns that provide additional insight into the data.

Education and Training

  • Degree or data scientist related experience within the financial markets, preferably foreign exchange.

Languages

  • Outstanding written and spoken English

  • Fluency (written and spoken) in any additional language may be regarded as an advantage

Compensation

Competitive package based on qualifications and experience of the applicant subject to Kickstarter scheme with additional incentives for the right candidate beyond the initial six-month period.

Work Conditions

The data scientist’s normal working hours are between 8am and 5pm from Monday to Friday. Flexible working hour arrangements may be available. All work is remote.
